In our first episode, we aim to answer one question about the Appalachian Region: Why care?
To start, we introduce ourselves, Sully and Trent, and explain why it is that we are making this show.
Then we talk to Elaine McMillion Sheldon, a successful documentarian from West Virginia, and Professor Joseph Bathanti, NC Poet Laureate. What we want to know? What value the two of them see in the region, and how they came to appreciate that value.
